Medieval Cauls

I just made a set of Medieval cauls on a fillet. Brown velvet with two kinds of matching gold braid in a netted pattern. I stitched the Cauls to the fillet so I can wear them pretty much like a hat. The pins there are holding the fronts in place until I sew the braid down to the front of the fillet.

This is the headpiece for my semi-historical Maid Marion costume, and will be worn with a veil. I'm also working on a surcoat of pale gold velvet.
